Something that I have been figuring out is that in order for effective classroom management, there needs to be a system of consequences in place that the students are aware of. Regardless of how much positive reinforcement my students are given, there are some students who will just continue to goof off if they are able to get away with it. We currently do not have very effective consequences in place in my main placement. I’m learning that without effective and meaningful consequences, there is no bite ot my bark. I’m hoping to be able to introduce some effective ways to make students think twice about jumping off desks or wrestling in the corner of the class.
